I Hate the Park and Ride....

So I recently started taking the bus to work again based on my changing groups. I happen to enjoy taking the bus as it allows me to kick back and relax as someone else puts up with the other idiot drivers on the road. However, there are minor "issues" I have with taking the bus. The biggest is the ghetto teens and crazy people that "hang out" at the Park and Ride. WTF? Why the Park and Ride? There is simply nothing cool about a large parking lot where you wait a few minutes for a bus to come. Seriously, I think that if you do not have a job and are not going to school and you don't have a valid and meaningful purpose to be at the Park and Ride, you should be BANNED! A valid reason does not consist of skipping school to wait at the Park and Ride for 2 hours before your bus shows up to be able to hit Downtown Seattle to score crack and annoy the business folk who are actually being productive.
And while waiting 2 hours for the bus to show, why do these teenagers insist on speaking as loudly as they possibly can about all the crazy shit that is going on in their teenage lives - ie; sex, someones baby mama drama, drugs, fighting, skipping out on curfew - you name it. Now, I realize that I was once an idiot teenager that talked about stupid teenage things. However, I choose to do this in the privacy of my own home with my other idiot teenage friends. And if not in the privacy of my own home - I knew to use "indoor voices" and not let the rest of the world know exactly what I was talking about. Seriously, I don't need to know that Tammy (who is probably only 12) is in the hospital because her baby's daddy put the beat down on her for taking his last smoke yo!
Maybe I'm being a bit harsh. I have only started taking the bus again and it's only been a few days....however, I have noticed that each morning, there is a new group of hoodlums talking about some ghetto something or another and they are making their conversation known to all of the nice productive worker bees. I also happen to notice that in the 10 minutes I am waiting for my bus to come, several other buses arrive - and the kids do not get on these other buses. I almost wonder if they just don't sit at the Park and Ride all day long and annoy people and then call it a day once school is supposed to be out. Do these kids get paid by someone? Not really sure how the whole thing works. I'd skip work one day to investigate but I actually enjoy life and fear that these little hood rats would probably beat me within inches of my life - they tend to travel/hang out in packs. Now if I could guarantee that I could totally rip into one of these hoodies and not have to suffer dire consequences - it'd SO be go time!!
I definitely have a feeling you will all be hearing more about my adventures with the Park and Ride and the bus itself. Right now, I don't have any fun bus stories to share but if I recall from back in the day, I had plenty after a couple of months. Stay tuned....and don't let me find you hanging out at the Park and Ride or I'm going to be pissed!!

One Trimester Down!!

Hello you beautiful darlings! Hope everyone is doing well through the craziness of December so far! We had our second doctor appt. today and things are going swimingly!! First, we went to do the ultrasound and were able to see various different views of the baby. During this time, we actually found out that I'm a week further along than originally thought. So now, I'm 12 and a half weeks and am now due on 6/29/08. I'm just liking the fact that I'm another week down without having done anything!! :) After the ultrasound, I then went and had half of the blood in my body drawn.....okay, well only 5 viles but it still felt like a lot and my arm felt as though it would fall off. After having blood taken, we went to my actual doctor for my monthly visit/exam. We were able to hear the heartbeat. It was pretty damn cool! We were told that the pregnancy is coming along great and the doctor has absolutely no concerns at this point. What else - I feel like I'm forgetting something. Oh yes, whomever invented the scale should be shot and then sent straight to hell. Other than that, we will be finding out the sex in February as opposed to January as I had mentioned back in November - my bad!

Hope to post later this week - hasta!!

Sex Ed in High School and more...

I have the PERFECT plan to ensure teenage pregnancy is cut WAY back. Recently, my dearest Rachele bought me some books to get me through my pregnancy. One of them is called From the Hips. This book mortifies me! After reading this book for about 15 minutes, I realized that I never want to get pregnant and have a child. Well, since it's a little late for that....I really think that this book should be a required read for highschool girls for at least three of the four years they are in school.

With that said, I am now 11 weeks into this pregnancy that I am now extremely fearul of! Things have been going really well. Physically, I feel great. I have had some back problems within the last several days but I am going to talk to my doctor about all that when we go on Tuesday. Otherwise, things are going well. And can I just say, I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE granny panties and maternity pants. I feel like such a sloth but am so comfortable in the process!

We are almost ready for the holidays! Steve is going to finish up a few things today and I have one more person to finish up and we're done! I've been wrapping along the way so that's almost done as well. I have just a few more to go. I think this is the first year that Steve and I have had some self control and haven't opened our gifts from each other already. Yes, we act like 5 year olds most of the time - but I'm proud of us this year. It's like we're growing up or something.....scary!

I hope all is well with everyone and you are all maintaining sanity during the holiday season! I'll post on Tuesday after we go to the doctor. Oh, Steve says hi! Hasta!

December Wedding

Congrats to Cristen and Nick!! 12/1/2007

Beautiful Bridesmaid!

The masters of self portraits yo!

O Christmas Tree

Me, Steve, Lexi, Jeff and the boys went to a tree farm in hopes of having a Griswold experience. No such luck. The trees were nice but way too SHORT! Us Burien folks like us some tall ones! We ended up just going to a local tree lot. Much better....more expensive and it will probably die next week - which sucks...but much better! :)

Keanon and one of the many "not tall" trees.

You can DO IT!

So happy now that he's got a tall tree and a
candy cane!

Prior to lights and decorations - Thanks for the
tree skirt Jenny!! (No, I have not figured out how
to rotate my pictures yet).

Presto chango!

It's now official!

Hey everyone! So no more peeing on sticks for me! We went to the doctor today and I am about 7 and a half weeks pregnant. Still rather early but the doctor says that the baby looks as it should and appears to be healthy. At this point, my due date is 7/6/08. I go in on 12/18 for some blood tests and another ultrasound. I had my first ultrasound today and Steve and I were able to see the heartbeat. It was amazing! And the doctor confirmed that there is only one baby in there! NO TWINS! WOO HOO!!! We should be able to find out the sex of the baby in mid January.

Hope all is well with everyone! I hope to post some pictures soon - maybe this weekend.

Stay beautiful!
