My Handsome Boy

Multiple posts yo!

This is what happens when mom is not back from work yet and dad is in charge. Sad.

Here are some Vegas shots....

If You Don't Know Now You Know....

I haven't posted an update in a while so here you go, happy Friday.

Friend A and Friend N went on their date a couple of weeks back. They tried to trick me while they were out and tell me that Friend A was a total perv and that Friend N was freaked out. The thing is, I knew they would try to do something like this to me so I was somewhat prepared. But still, I wasn't sure if they were in fact joking or not so I stood in the middle of Costco repeating "shut the fuck up liar" and "no way". Then, at the end of their date, I spoke with Friend A and during my convo with Friend A, Friend N left me a voicemail. So the status - both like each other and said that they'd like to go out again, but I don't think they've been out or talked since. What gives?

That same weekend, we went to Miss Ally Lynn's 3rd birthday party. Had a great time and it's crazy to think that the little lady is turning into a little misses. I think when Cole turns 4 or 5, he is going to have a serious crush on Ally and she's going to have to break his little heart because after all, she's no cougar.

What else, what else...?

Ah yes, we went to Vegas on the 13th. Our flight into Vegas was delayed by close to an hour and a half so that sucked ass and checking in took forever. But we got there and had beers in hand shortly after 8:00 and actually rallied until a little after 2:00am amazingly enough. When we were at the airport after arriving in Vegas - heading down to get our baggage, we saw Slash from GNR. I don't think that guy's look will ever change. But we didn't want to chase him down and dangle around his ankles in order for us to give us his autograph - so we oooh'd and aww'd for about 2 seconds and continued onto baggage. After we were checked in, we freshened up and set out on our way to get some grub. En route, we saw a drunk girl chick fight between two friends. It was quite amusing. The rest of the weekend went something like this, eat, walk, gamble, lose, curse, drink, drink, drink, gamble, drink, walk, shop, curse, gamble, drink, eat, lose, lose, lose, lose, lose some more, curse a lot, sleep, walk, drink. The weather was great though. All in all, I don't see us going back to Vegas for at least a few years. It was fun and all but nothing like when you're in your early 20's and full of bullshit and energy.

I tried acupuncture for the first time last night. I couldn't tell you if it's worked magically on me or not. I will be going weekly for a while. It's cool, but I need to give it a few more sessions before I can actually say I can't live without it. I'm also going to be starting hot yoga tomorrow. I've decided to do acupuncture once a week, hot yoga on the weekends and the gym a few days a week. I'll try this routine out for a bit and see if I feel "enlightened". If anything, I should be so flexible that if need be, I can kick people that are standing up in the head when they act a fool without falling on my ass. I'll let you know how that one goes. I'll probably try it out on Steve first.

Cole is doing fab! He turned 10 months this week and has 6 whole teeth. He still refuses to crawl but it's all good. He likes to spin himself in circles though. And he growls like a monster quite frequently. I am not sure at this point if this is something I should be concerned about or not. I certainly don't want him growling at Ally if he's trying to win her affection. But we'll see. Hopefully it's something he'll grow out of shortly and before I know it he'll be repeating to everyone "my mom's the coolest". What, you don't think these will be his first words?

Steve had his birthday this week as well - the big 31. He is not liking the fact that I've been calling him old man but I'm not a nice person anyway so what the fuck ever. Harsh? No, really, I do love him dearly and have managed to only get annoyed with him one day so far this week.

Otherwise, not much else has been going on. Just working and getting ready to start planning Cole's 1 year birthday extravaganza. Hope everyone is well. Hasta!

Shape Collage - Thanks Alecia!

Alecia found a really cool collage application so I had to try it out. Here's my first...
Unfortunately, I have not yet figured out how to post links on this - so I can't give you her site which gives the link to the application. But I can cut/copy and paste! :) So here it is.
Pretty cool, right??!?!?!

The New 25 Random Things List?

So while reading my usual fav blogs after lunch, I came across one one where you were to list 30 random songs from your iPod and make a little comment about why you love them or what they meant to you or whatever. So, being it's a Friday, I'm done with lunch and ready for work to be over, I thought there was no better way to spend my time than doing this random 30.

So I put my ear buds in and hit play and here are the first 30 songs from my Zune.

1) "Hey There Delilah" - Plain White T's - I just think this is a beautiful song. And no, I'm not sick of it. I rarely listen to the radio so I haven't run into the whole "God, that song sucks, it's so overplayed" mood.

2) "Gypsy" - Fleetwood Mac - This reminds me of my 80's moon boots for some odd reason. However, when Stevie Nicks hits minute 1:44 through 2:25, I love love love this part of the song and wish I could belt it out at the top of my lungs when no one else is around.

3) "Simply the Best" - Tina Turner - This song makes me cry just about every time I listen to it. It means the world to me. Back in 2007, My mom and dad would have been celebrating their 30 year wedding anniversary and my dad was planning a special something for them and had picked this song to blare when my mom arrived. A majority of the time, I can only listen to this song for about 20 seconds before I have to change it.

4) "American Baby" - Dave Matthews Band - This song just makes me smile.

5) "Chasing Pavements" - Adelle - This is another beautiful song. Her voice is amazing. It doesn't bring back any memories or anything like that - I just enjoy the song.

6) "Fuck Me Pumps" - Amy Winehouse - Ha ha ha - pass. I get to take a pass right....? I don't have nice things to say about a person in particular when I hear this song.

7) "Take Your Mama Out" - Scissor Sisters - This song reminds me of the night we were at Rachele's house celebrating some one's b-day (don't remember who though) and Nick and Joel were singing this song at the top of their lungs.

8) "The Bartender" - Rehab - I heard this song for the first time when I was in Amber and Greg's RV and we were on our way to go camping and Amber and I were completely sloshed and hadn't even gotten to the campsite yet. I was amazed and in awe that Greg had installed such an amazing sound system in this old school RV.

9) "Patience" - GNR - Ha, when I have had a few too many, I love to listen to this song on repeat and I couldn't tell you why. Although, sadly enough, I can't whistle worth a lick so the first almost minute of the song is pointless to me.

10) "Gloria" - Van Morrison - I always picture my dad playing air guitar and singing this song in a weird raspy voice because he apparently thinks he sounds like Van Morrison.

11) "Regulate" - Warren G - MOUNT UP!

12) "Wheelz of Steel" - Outkast - Still don't know all the words to this song even though it's my life goal to be able to sing this whole song. Almost there, maybe....

13) "Signs" - Tesla - I rocked the shit out of this tape back in the day!

14) "Untouchable Face" - Ani DiFranco - If I were gay, I would so make this my "dedication" breakup song!

15) "I Need Love" - LL Cool J - When he says "the warmth that is created by a girl and a boy" - when I was little, I swear he said "the womb that is created by a girl and a boy". Anyway, I know EVERY.WORD.OF.THIS.SONG and can rap/sing it in my best LL voice.

16) "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" - The Animals - I don't remember how my mom and I came upon this song way back in the day - but we did and shortly after, I found the cd in my room.

17) "Stronger" - Kanye West - I love to blare this one at the gym for some reason, it seems to give me a second wind most of the time.

18) "Love is a Battlefield" - Pat Benatar - This song screams Shana. I think of her every time! We can do the moves from the video like it's no body's business.

19) "Sympathy for the Devil" - Rolling Stones - My dad and I were going to make this our father/daughter dance at my wedding but my mom about lost it when we told her what we were planning. This song is a staple between my dad and I. Summers in Chelan playing pool, it's on without fail.

20) "One Call Away" - Chingy - This is just a catchy tune in my opinion. No fun memories or anything like that.

21) "Whatever You Like" - T.I. - Reminds me of Rachele. It's another catchy one - but nothing really comes to mind when I listen to it other than liking it and possibly being able to listen to it on repeat from time to time. I'm talking big boy rides and big boy ice let me put this big boy in your life....

22) "The Next Episode" - Dr. Dre and Snoop - This song is just plain gangster. THUG LIFE!

23) "In the Middle" - Jimmy Eat World - Okay, it too me FOREVER to figure out what the hell he was saying in chorus of this song - and once I knew what he was saying, I felt like a jackass for not having a clue for as long as I did.

24) "I Hate You So Much" - Kelis - When this song came out, I was in a relationship and wished I could break up with the person just so I could play this song full blast over and over and over and over. And sadly enough, I did wish that he would cheat on me just so this song would be valid when I played it.

25) "Wish You Were Here" - Pink Floyd - Love this song but the beginning of it takes too long and the song itself is too short.

26) "My Best Friends Girl" - The Cars - Well, since I just watched the movie My Best Friend's Girl - this song makes me think of that movie.

27) "So What" - Pink - I love Pink. She's so fun. I really hope that her and Carey Hart can reconcile and make lots of talented babies that can sing and motor cross like there's no tomorrow. I wonder if we'll see Carey Hart in Vegas next weekend when we stop into his tattoo shop....hmmmm. Maybe I'll meet Pink and we'll become besties and she'll dedicate her next album to me.

28) "Bold As Love" - Jimi Hendrix - This is another one that I love love love. It's just an awesome song!

29) "Rocket Man" - Elton John - LOVE ELTON JOHN! Rachele was supposed to take me to this concert with her when she got tickets from d-bag for her b-day - but d-bag did not give her the chance to see if she wanted to take me - instead he took the second ticket and they went. I hate him.

30) "Work That We Do (The Red) - Sublime - This song needs to be longer.

So that's all....I guess I tag you now.

Chapter 1

So I talked to Friend A this morning and he and Friend N ended up chatting last night. Their first phone call. I couldn't help but smile and ask what they talked about and what he thought. I'd get into the convo they had but they're still new to you guys so I will slowly introduce more details as I go. Anyway, their first phone session - so far so good. Depending on if Friend A can kick his sick bug, they are set to go out tomorrow for happy hour and I'm sure a bunch of no good. I can't wait to hear the details on Monday. Or maybe sooner....? Maybe not.

Cupid Stredicke

I can't let out all of the details yet - because, really, there aren't any. But, a certain someone (ME) may have possibly hooked up two friends. For the sake of anonymity, we'll call them Friend A and Friend N. I am so excited to hear/see how things play out. Either they're going to love me and I'll become famous for my brilliant match making ability or they are both going to end up hating me and never speaking to me again.

I realize this post is rather premature - but I am really excited to hear how things pan out. I have tried my hand at match making in the past, but that didn't work out so well. I won't get into the story or start naming names, but it involves a certain said best friend and a neighbor's son's co-worker.

I've already told Friend A that I would be blogging all of the details of this possible steamy (or not so steamy) love affair. Well, it's not so much a steamy love affair at this point but I'm all giddy at the thought of these two hitting it off so stay tuned!
