Totally Dumb, I Already Know....

Dumb? Yes. Bored? Yes.
If Sadie and Goliath were to write up "seeking" ads, they would look something like this.

Sadie
About me: I am a beautiful black long haired princess with yellow eyes and a mellow attitude.
Seeking: Someone to come in and remove the other four legged beast that annoys me. Otherwise, leave me alone.
Hobbies: Sleeping.

Goliath
About me: I am completely spastic. I am an over sized black Chihuahua with a "mohawk" and brown eyes that look blue when a picture is taken. I love to bark and run in circles and eat anything at anytime.
Seeking: Anything that moves and will give me attention.
Hobbies: Chasing Sadie, running in circles, following anyone that is in the kitchen hoping that if they have food, they drop some, barking, digging holes in the carpet, sneaking into the laundry room to eat Sadie's food, snuggling in a pile of laundry fresh out of the dryer, licking the baby, licking the baby after he spits up, licking anything that the baby has spit up on, digging holes in the dirt right after it has rained, piddling when I am excited, annoying my owners and finally, occasionally humping other dogs that I come into contact with.

Here are some pictures from Christmas eve and Christmas day. It was fun and Cole got so spoiled....and I'm glad it's over. Until next year....

Holiday Party At The David's

Here are some pictures from the annual David holiday party (thanks again Lance and Jane!). I haven't been able to go the past few years so it was great to go this year and see everyone. We had a great time and can't wait until next year!

Quick Updates (Gripes) and Holiday Wishes

I'm slackin' big time on posts and pics. I have several pics to put up once I stop being a lazy bastard and actually load them to the computer. Soon.

Updates (or rather, gripes):
1) Mr. Cole has TWO teeth right now and another appears to be coming in. He is cranky.
2) The 131 bus through Georgetown is quite similar to the 120. People are batshit crazy and smell badly. I know this because due to the lovely weather we're having, my bus wasn't running at all and I really didn't want to take the 120 again so I thought I'd shake things up a bit. I will be glad once things are back to normal.
3) My Christmas tree is dead and has been dead for about a week now.
4) Dog the Bounty Hunter is a tool (DVR is empty, movies are all watched and I'm bored....)

Otherwise, not a lot of exciting stuff going on right now. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and safe travels where ever you are going for the holiday. XOXOXO

Santa 2008

I absolutely HATE holiday crowds. I get way too cranky and if Steve's with me, we usually end up in some stupid fight. So knowing we had to go down to Southcenter to get Cole's Santa pics was making me a bit nervous - and knowing that Steve wanted to go with, well, I was preparing for bickering. We called the night before to find out what time they started doing pics. So we made sure we were up and ready and down at Southcenter at that time. Amazingly enough, there were no crowds, no line, no nothing. We got in and out within 10 minutes and even got some shopping done before and after. We were down at the mall for about an hour or so and no fights with the Mr.

My Goal Was Not To Shat My Pants This Morning

So, I really didn't mess myself, but I was close. Two words that describe the last 3 minutes of my bus ride this morning, near death - well not really.

I ride the 121/122 in to Seattle which is a commuter bus. For the most part, there are no issues like you would find if you were to say ride the 120 (lord knows I've had some fine times on the 120 though).

This morning was just like any other morning. Except for the fact that at the Pike Street stop, a man whom had apparently lost ALL of his marbles and the skill to speak human, got on and sat directly across from me. He immediately started making crazy growling and grunting noises - and he wasn't using inside noise per say. His growling and grunting was extremely loud. The second he sat down, he started pulling the stop line over and over and over and over and over all the while making his gorilla noises. I guess he only wanted to ride the bus for a half of a block.

Them problem is, after the Pike Street stop, the next stop is between Seneca and Spring (about three or four blocks). When the bus driver (bless his heart) didn't stop a half a block after Pike, crazy man lost it. He started throwing a foot tantrum and grunting/growling in a very high pitched manner. At this point, I was a little nervous but thought dude would calm down and attempt to speak English for a tid. Not so much. Once he realized that the bus driver was not stopping after a full block, but rather was continuing on the normal route, he started pulling the stop line like it was going out of style while stomping his feet in a girly tantrum like manner and continued to make his weird noises.

He finally got fed up with pulling the stop line and not actually having the bus stop. So he then stands up and is looking straight at me. This is where I about shat myself. Because he's looking at me and continuing to throw his tantrum. So I look everywhere but at the man because I'm afraid that making eye contact is going to trigger nasty childhood memories or some shit like that and then he'll lunge at me and then I'm screwed. Mind you, everyone else who sat in the front has already gotten off at previous stops so I'm sitting all by my lonesome.

He eventually stops looking at me and then approaches the driver and starts stomping his feet like crazy and sounds like an animal that's dying. I can tell the bus driver's a little rattled at this point too but he sticks to his guns and doesn't make any additional stops prior to Seneca/Spring. We hit Seneca and Spring and nut case man gets off and then sits at the bench waiting for another bus. I say thank you to the driver but he doesn't respond with a "you're welcome" like he normally does. Poor guy. He was so rattled by the past three minutes like I was that he apparently forgot how to talk.

Anyway, you will all be happy to know that I survived that near death experience and still have clean undies ta boot! YEAH ME!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

You're On Notice - Whomever You Are...

Some of you read my past post titled "The String Cheese Incident". Well my dear friends,
IT. HAS. HAPPENED. AGAIN. Did said thief not learn ANYTHING from last year? I brought a string cheese in yesterday but didn't end up eating it. So I just went to grab it now and low and behold - IT'S GONE! So, to the string cheese thief, you're on notice - again. STOP IT. I get cranky when I'm tired and when I'm hungry. Today, I'm both. I will let it slide this time (again) but am getting geared up to install a nanny cam in the common area where the fridge is. And I WILL catch you one of these days if it kills me. For now, I will just stick to a yogurt - but I will NOT be happy about it - just so you know.

Six Month Checkup

Cole had his six month checkup today. He is 17 pounds and 26 inches. A very healthy, handsome little boy. He got three shots and an oral vaccination. He wasn't crazy about the shots but who is? He is able to now start solids - although I started him on solids a couple weeks ago. But now I have the official okay to do so.

Cole is doing fantastic with solids so far - although there are times when he thinks he's hilarious and will blow raspberries while he's got food in his mouth. He is very enamored with Goliath these days. He will just stare after Goliath and laugh hysterically if Goliath gets within a foot or two of him. According to Cole, Goliath is the new black.

No teeth yet, but we think they may be coming soon.

Other than that, he's just growing so quickly and still has an enormous grasp on my heart. Although, I don't think that will ever change.

Talking/Sleeping

Here's a picture of Cole falling asleep in the middle of his cereal/pears. Then, video of Cole showing off his talking skills. I should take some lessons. Good times.

Pictures From The Weekend

We all got together this last weekend for dinner at Amber and Greg's. We got to visit the new mommy and her cutie pie Chloe as well as my favorite mommy to be, Jenny and the always fun Miss Mayzie. Rachele cooked us an amazing pasta dish and her killer bread.

Gasp - Trying.Not.To.Cry

So, in my quest to have my precious baby boy, I gained a whopping 70 pounds. I got HUGE. Since having Cole, I have managed to lose 45 pounds thus far but still have 35 to go. Not bad in my opinion but I still have to really be kicking my ass to get the rest of this weight off. Now, for those of you who have seen me lately, I don't look pregnant - at least I don't think. Just larger than I was. I have not yet gotten back to the more form fitting shirts/tops that I used to wear pre-prego days. Rather, I wear shirts that are a bit flowier (is that even a word). And I refuse to shop for other clothing items until I have lost more weight.

Now, onto the reason for the above paragraph.

Setting: On the elevator at work. Man enters.

Man: Hello, how are you?

Me: Good thanks.

Man: When are you due?

Me: Blank stare

Man: You are pregnant, aren't you?

Me: I'm not pregnant.

Man: Oh, you look....

Me: (cutting him off) - It's the style of the shirt.

Man: Wow, I'm so sorry. Well, I guess I have nothing more to say to you now.

Me: It's cool.

Uncomfortable silence for the next 6 floors while I reach my destination.....

Man: Have a nice day.

WTF? Are you fucking kidding me! Haven't we hit the total P.C. age where even if you know someone is 9 months pregnant and about to pop - you STILL don't assume they're pregnant and you certainly don't ask when they're due....?

Woe is me. I feel like climbing into bed right now with a big grab bag of comfort foods.

Happy November!

I can't believe the holiday's are right around the corner. Not much has been going on in the Stredicke home. Steve and I are working and rushing home so we can play with Cole. He is getting quite big and developing my hilarious and warm personality. Heh. Unfortunately, I haven't had any crazy antics going on lately so I don't have any funny stories to share - and I know that you are all having withdrawls. I was going to blog about the confrontation on the bus between the lady and the crack heads - but when it came down to it, while it was a crazy story, it was really pretty sad because I found out that one of the crackies was 3 months prego. That broke my heart and made my decision not to post anything about her. Hopefully something crazy happens fast because I could use a little funny in my life. Hope everyone is well and has made it out to vote - or sent in their absentee ballot. Also, there are two new posts below this one. Stay beautiful!

Chloe and Cole

Amber and Greg brought their sweet lil pumpkin over today for a visit.

Happy Birthday Mayzie May!!

I forgot to upload these a couple weeks ago....yikes! Miss Mayzie Mae Smith turned 4 back on October 18th. She had such a fun time and Jenny and Shawn hosted a great b-day bash with an awesome jump-a-roo for all of the kids.
